What Makes Us Awesome?

FAQs

What is a Pod?

A pod is a small learning group where homeschool students are matched with a tutor who can support their academics by answering their questions and providing further explanation.

Who leads the pods?

Each pod is matched with a tutor who has their teaching certification or equivalent experience.* All of our tutors undergo an annual background check. We provide ongoing education for our tutors in Social Emotional Learning, Emotional Intelligence, incorporating cultural learning in the classroom, and curriculum development and planning.

*Equivalent experience is determined by the owner at Engage Education, LLC.

What are the ratios?

We have a goal to keep a 7:1 student to teacher ratio. This allows more one-on-one time and customized learning for each child in the group. Pods are separated into age groups based on enrollment.

What grades and age groups do you work with?

We are accepting students ages K-12 for our pods.

Our pods are divided into age-based groups, dependent on enrollment. We will provide more information as we develop our pods.

What curriculum do you use?

Each student uses their own curriculum. This allows the parents that ability to customize what they want their students to learn. Parents and tutors will meet throughout the school year to collaborate on the pacing and progress of the student.

Our low ratios allows tutors to help each student with their own customized curriculum.

Need help finding the right curriculum for you? We are here to support you as we select the curriculum and platforms your student will be using.

NOTE: Our teachers do not teach specialty topics (music, religion, etc.). If needed, the parent can ask for a subject specific tutor to work with their child for an additional fee.

How does enrollment work?

We have 3 enrollment options:

  • Full Time (5 days per week 9AM-2PM)

  • 3 Day Part-Time (Monday, Wednesday, Friday 9AM-2PM)

  • 2 Day Part-Time (Tuesday, Thursday 9AM-2PM)

Our enrollment options provide consistency for the teachers and students.

If 2 part-time families would like to "swap a day" (for example, they want Monday/Thursday and you want Tuesday/Wednesday/Friday)- we have a form to show that both families agree to these changes for the agreed upon sessions.
